Abstract:
The 1996 experiment performed at the Physico-Technical Federal Board (Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt, PTB) provided a value of the Newtonian gravitational constant that exceeds the standard value by ~ 0.6 %. In this paper, it is shown that this anomaly does not result from neglecting the Earth's shielding effect.
